In 2015 Kuehne + Nagel started the evaluation of semantic web based on a concrete use case from contract logistics. The project results were presented at The Open Group London Event and Member Meeting, from 25-28 April 2016.
Based on the success, in 2016 a project was initiated to bring the first semantic web application at Kuehne + Nagel into production. To support different semantic web applications, Kuehne + Nagel is now building a linked data platform, called KN(owl)edge.
The talk will present the linked data platform and the first semantic web application that is built on it.

Thomas Kaleske is a Senior Integration Architect at the Global IT of Kuehne + Nagel in Hamburg. He initiated the project to evaluate semantic web. Currently he is the IT Architect for the first corporate semantic web application at Kuehne + Nagel. He is one of the key architects who design the new linked data platform KN(owl)edge.
