Lindsay Frost

CV

Lindsay Frost, as chairman of the new ETSI Industry Specification Group for cross-cutting Context Information Management (ETSI ISG CIM), has the goal to consult stakeholders, especially from the areas of semantic interoperability and Smart City domains, and find a consensus on how to publish and subscribe to information from various sources (IoT, existing city databases, web and mobile apps).

Lindsay Frost was an experimental physics research manager in facilities in Germany, Italy and Australia, before joining NEC in 1999. From 2003 to 2009 he managed R&D teams for VoIP, 3GPP, WiMAX, fixed-mobile convergence and WLAN, while also working two years as chairman of the Wi-Fi Alliances' WiFi-Mobile Convergence Marketing Task Group. Elected in 2012 to the Board of Home Gateway Initiative, he later also became co-chairman of the HGI Smart Home group, where he co-designed the XML-based template for device descriptions which was introduced in 2016 into mainstream oneM2M specifications. He was elected chairman of ETSI ISG CIM in February 2017.
